The Bug Band crawl over to DCA for Special Event

Dateline, Disney's Calif. Adventure- October 5, 2002

Local favorite insects, The Bug Band made a rare appearance this week at Disney's California Adventure for the Annual Passholders Preview of the new Flik's Fun Fair. The special event included a buffet meal of prime rib, a panel discussion with Pixar Studios head, John Lasseter and others, a musical mealtime serenade by a Beetle-like group, YESTERDAY and free rides and a tour of the new Flik's Fun Fair area.

The highlight of the event for this reporter was the appearance of THE BUG BAND, who played for passing guests and posed for pictures.

For more coverage and additional photos of this event, go to The Bug Band Page.

Dateline- Santa Clarita, California- Sept. 28, 2002-

Billy Elvis, Kirk Wall played a surprise guest set with Dennis Fetchet's other band, The Grateful Dudes on Saturday night, the 28th of September. Both Mr. Wall and the pizza were well received and enjoyed by local fans. Mr. Wall hadn't visited the Grateful Dudes hang-out since the late 1990's and was long overdue to share his wonderful musical skills. Songs included "The Letter", "Slue Foot', "Wheel Hose", and "Blue Moon of Kentucky" Elvis-style. For more pictures of the event, go to Kirk Visits the Dudes

Eat More Chili Cheese Fries

4 out of 5 Frontierland Doctors are discovering the benefits of eating chili cheese fries. Reports have been coming in from all over the territory. The Golden Horseshoe Saloon indicted to this reporter that sales had slumped during the warm summer, but an increase in sales is expected as temperatures fall in the coming months.

Dateline, DCA - Oct. 5-6, 2002

Billy Hill & the Hillbillies will change "hats", so to speak, and perform this week-end at the California Adventure Premiere of Flik's Fun Fair/Bug Land.

The Bug Band will be playing both Saturday and Sunday at various hours.

The Saturday night shows are a private affair for guests who purchased the $125. event package. This event will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

At this time, this reporter was not sure if the other Sunday shows would be open to the public or not. Bill Hill and the Hillbillies had performed previously as the Bug Band for the Opening of California Adventure in Feb. 2001.

Dateline, DCA- Sept. 25, 2002

Billy sub and Barncat regular, Rick Dunham has a CD available called San Antonio.

In this reporter opinion, it is the best country style CD to be heard in a long time. Copies are available through Rick. Pop on over and pay him a visit at DCA and tell him the Billy Gazette highly recommended it.
