The show opens
with "Play Me Some Mountain Music" made famous by Alabama in
1982.
Billy Little
John [John Eaden] sings this foot stompin' number accompanied by Billy
Banjo [John David] on banjo, Billy Mandolin [Evan Marshall] on mandolin
and Billy Bass [John Marshall] on bass.
"Oh, play me some mountain
music
Like grandma and grandpa used to play....." |
 |
|
  |
Billy Little
John than tells some hillbilly jokes about their family, when he is
interrupted by Billy Mandolin, who would like to play his mandolin solo.
Billy's solo
is "put off" until later and Little John introduces the "Mountain
Music Medley" that includes "Wipe Out" and "Walk,
Don't Run" by The Ventures, as well as some others. The medley is
finished with a spirited "Johnny Be Good" riff by Billy
Banjo on electric guitar. |
|
Billy Mandolin
interrupts Little John again, begging to do his mandolin solo..."The
audience is ready for it", he pleads, but he is put-off again in favor of
"Dueling Banjos", as played by Billy Banjo and Billy
Mandolin.
This number is
interrupted by Little John on electric guitar, who tries to stomp Billy
Banjo with his expertise. |
 |
|
Billy Mandolin is interrupts one
more time and is granted a chance to do his mandolin solo. He begins with
a series of short classical pieces.......that are soon interrupted by his
brothers. |
|
Billy
begins his solo as...

|
Little
John skates by....

|
He gets a 7.5 from

the hillbilly judges |
...as
Little John delivers a Disney meal on a tray...

...the
judges hold up $10.95 signs. |
|
Finally Billy
Mandolin is able to play his most famous piece, "The William Tell
Overture".
Next comes the
dangerous stunt portion of the show where the Hillbillies will play each
other instruments, while playing each other's instruments.
Confused? Just
Look Below....... |
 |
|
First, they stretch and warm
up......

Kids, Don't
Do This At Home!
These are
trained professional hillbillies.
As Billy Bass does
Billy Mandolin's fretting, Billy Mandolin does Billy Banjo's fretting,
while Billy Banjo does Billy Little John's Guitar fretting and Little John
does the bass fretting.
They finish by
playing separately. |
 |
|
 |
Next, comes the song,
"You've Gotta' Have a Fiddle in the Band", as the hillbillies go
into the "Orange Blossom Special".
It starts with Billy Mandolin,
than goes to Billy Bass on fiddle #2 and Billy Little John on fiddle # 3.
 |
|
How about
fiddle #4?
What Billy
Banjo doesn't play fiddle?
Well, let's
just grab someone from the audience.
The show ends
with a really fast double time version of the "Orange Blossom
Special" |
 |
|
 |
And the final
bow!
