Disneyland officially opened on July 17, 1955. The problem of how to provide useful information to park guests was solved by the printing of flyers, pamphlets and brochures that listed important facts, such as show times, parade times, attraction locations and descriptions, dining options and guest services. It was soon discovered that guests liked keeping the attractive Disneyland paper items as souvenirs of their visits. Eventually, photographic souvenir brochures were provided for purchase, and many sponsoring companies discovered that giving guests pamphlets and postcards about their company and it's attraction provided valuable public relations. Companies that jumped on the "paper" bandwagon included Bank of America, Monsanto, Upjohn Pharmacies, Kodak, Chicken of the Sea, and Sunkist Citrus Products. My Disneyland Paper collection contains four types of media.....
